AN INVITATION TO BELIEVE IN GOD AND TO
WORSHIP AND SERVE HIM
Greetings to you in the name
of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. This letter is about the good
news of salvation, the damnation of unbelievers, and an invitation to believe
in and to worship God.
The Good News Of Salvation
This news is God’s love for
us. He sent his son to die for the world. Jesus Christ came,
was crucified, buried, resurrected, ascended to heaven where he is highly
exalted with God, our heavenly Father (Ephesians 1:20-23). After Christ
ascended to heaven he sent the Holy Spirit to the earth to abide with his
people forever (St. John 14:16). God’s love for us is expressed in the
making of heaven and earth, his daily provisions for mankind, and in the
grace and salvation that is offered to us (Genesis 1:1,28; Psalm 104:14; Ephesians
2:8).
Damnation of Unbelievers
God is holy (Rev. 4:8).
He does not accept sin and has promised to punish sinners who have not acknowledged
that he is God nor repented of their sins (Joshua 24:19, 20; Luke 13:3).
God’s punishment will be severe and very great (Matt. 25:41; Luke 13:26,27;
Rev. 21:8).
Be a Believer in the Lord
If you are not a Christian,
you are invited to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour.
He came from heaven and died for us to make salvation possible. This
is the supreme sacrifice. Now we need to offer no animals or any materials
things to secure our salvation. We need to believe on him and trust
him as our Saviour (St. John 3:16, 17). To believe is to submit ourselves
to him (James 4:7), to commit ourselves to him (I Peter 2:23), and to serve
him faithfully and with great joy (Psalm 100:2; Rev. 2:10).
An Invitation to Worship God
The Bible exhorts us to worship
God and not to delay in doing so. Psalm 95:6-8 - O come, let us worship
and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker. For he is our
God; and we are the people of His pasture, and the sheep of his hand.
Today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your heart. Hebrews 10:25
also exhorts us not to forsake the assembling of ourselves together.
If you have no church home, we invite you to worship and work with us here
at Tremont Baptist Church.
